I was raised in Cookeville TN and received my medical degree at East Tennessee Medical School. Then I completed a residency in Emergency Medicine. My 19 years in emergency medicine, along with special training in addiction medicine has given me exposure to the destruction that addiction causes. Also, my family provides temporary childcare for mothers struggling with addiction. This has let me see how addiction tears multiple generations of families apart. This is my calling; to help people break free from addiction.
On a personal level, My wife and I are busy raising three teenagers of our own. I like to fish and take walks with my wife. Love yard games and coercing reluctant family members to play. Love dreaming up trips but actually travel very little. I hope if you or a loved one is struggling you will trust me to help.

I got involved in addiction medicine 9 years ago after seeing the suffering people were going through with substance abuse. The destruction that substance abuse does to individuals, and their families is heartbreaking. I believe everyone has hope of recovery. I love being a part of that journey; free from addiction. I Can Do All Things Through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13.
I was raised in East Tennessee. I have raised my family here. I believe this is the best area of the country. I have been an Emergency Room physician for 15 years. I have been married for 32 years and have four wonderful children and two grandchildren (hopefully more soon).

This year I celebrate 40 years of nursing! I spent many years working at UT Hospital and Ft. Sanders in labor and delivery, newborn nursery, newborn ICU, and obstetrics and gynecology. I also have experience in med/surg, assisted living care facilities and primary care. Most recent years I was proud to work at Cherokee Health as nurse manager for 3 of their clinics, handling mental health crisis and medical patients. Cornerstone of Recovery was one of my employers as well, as I covered the night shifts working in detox for several years. I also have many previous years of experience working in addiction and recovery for a large private office in Knoxville. Now I find myself loving my work, staff, and patients here at Total Recovery! This is my new “home” and I look forward to meeting and caring for more people in the future and expanding our services!
