I earned an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, with a minor in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. During my studies, I developed a strong appreciation for understanding people, their behaviors, cultures, and the social systems that shape their lives. This foundation not only deepened my curiosity about the world but also strengthened my ability to connect with others on a meaningful level.
The perspectives I gained through anthropology and sociology continue to guide me in both my personal and professional life. Whether working with individuals or within a team, I approach each situation with empathy, cultural awareness, and a genuine desire to understand and help others.

Front Office Manager
My career began in cosmetology, where I developed a passion for helping others feel confident and cared for. From 2008 to 2015, I dedicated my time to raising my four children as a stay-at-home mom-a period that taught me patience, adaptability, and strong multitasking skills. After returning to the workforce, I gained valuable experience in the restaurant industry before transitioning into property insurance, where I eventually managed a team of agents.
While I found success in that field, I felt a growing desire to make a more meaningful impact on people’s lives. That calling led me to Total Recovery, where I’ve found purpose and fulfillment in helping others on their journey toward healing and stability.

Kristin R. McKamey
MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Kristin is originally from Maine but has called East Tennessee her permanent home since 2007. She has over 20 years experience in healthcare. She practiced as a registered nurse for almost 10 years in critical care step down and hospice/palliative care. She became a board-certified family nurse practitioner in 2019 and began practicing in primary care, pediatrics, and women’s health for a period of time before finding her true passion during a job shadowing experience in a clinic treating addiction. She was the primary medical provider on site for 2 years in an inpatient rehabilitation facility treating dual diagnoses of addiction and mental health. Additionally, Kristin completed a post-graduate psychiatry program and is board certified as a psychiatric and mental health provider. She has also become proficient in treating hepatitis C and men and women’s sexual health. She is a big supporter of an integrative healthcare model like what is offered at Total Recovery, where people struggling with substance use and mental health issues can be cared for on the full spectrum at one location and with a consistent continuity of care by familiar and trusted healthcare providers.
Kristin prides herself on providing empathetic care and easing the physical and emotional discomfort associated with beginning a journey in addiction recovery for those who feel that they have no where else to turn for help. Kristin has 2 children, 4 dogs, 2 cats, a ball python, and a chameleon. She enjoys attending comedy shows and UT men’s basketball games with her husband, being outside with her family and you can usually find her in the woods somewhere on weekends during hunting season.

Dr. Bruce Campbell
MD
I was raised in Cookeville TN and received my medical degree at East Tennessee Medical School. Then I completed a residency in Emergency Medicine. My 19 years in emergency medicine, along with special training in addiction medicine has given me exposure to the destruction that addiction causes. Also, my family provides temporary childcare for mothers struggling with addiction. This has let me see how addiction tears multiple generations of families apart. This is my calling; to help people break free from addiction.
On a personal level, My wife and I are busy raising three teenagers of our own. I like to fish and take walks with my wife. Love yard games and coercing reluctant family members to play. Love dreaming up trips but actually travel very little. I hope if you or a loved one is struggling you will trust me to help.
Dr. Darin Louis Hale
MD JD
I got involved in addiction medicine 9 years ago after seeing the suffering people were going through with substance abuse. The destruction that substance abuse does to individuals, and their families is heartbreaking. I believe everyone has hope of recovery. I love being a part of that journey; free from addiction. I Can Do All Things Through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13.
I was raised in East Tennessee. I have raised my family here. I believe this is the best area of the country. I have been an Emergency Room physician for 15 years. I have been married for 32 years and have four wonderful children and two grandchildren (hopefully more soon).
